Bihar Elections: Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh makes big announcement, says ‘Will remain a true soldier of party, won’t…’

Bhojpuri film star and BJP leader Pawan Singh has made it clear that he will not contest the Bihar Assembly elections. He recently rejoined the BJP, leading to expectations that he would contest. However, these speculations have now been put to rest. He announced his decision on social media.

Pawan Singh posted on social media, saying, “I, Pawan Singh, want to inform my Bhojpuri community that I did not join the party to contest the assembly elections, nor do I intend to contest them. I am a true soldier of the party and will always remain so.”

Pawan Singh formally returned to the BJP a week ago. Senior BJP leaders Vinod Tawde and Rituraj Sinha were present. Upendra Kushwaha publicly blessed him, ending the 2024 controversy. He had previously contested against Kushwaha in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. After returning
to the BJP, Pawan Singh wrote on social media that he would work towards Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s vision of a “developed Bihar.” He subsequently met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J.P. Nadda in Delhi. These meetings resolved past differences.

BJP had its eyes on these areas

It was being said that Pawan Singh could play a key role in consolidating the Rajput and youth votes in Bhojpuri areas, especially Bhojpur and Shahabad, where the NDA’s performance was weak last time. The BJP’s strategy aimed to reunite the fragmented Rajput vote bank in 2024 and consolidate the OBC vote with allies. Given Pawan Singh’s popularity and influence within the Rajput community, there was speculation that he would receive a ticket from an assembly seat in the Bhojpur region. But now, all these speculations have been put to rest.

Is wife Jyoti Singh the reason?

Since his return to the BJP, Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh’s wife, Jyoti Singh, has openly spoken out against him. She has been posting frequently on social media and has repeatedly demanded a ticket. On Friday, Jyoti Singh met with Prashant Kishor, head of the Jansuraj Abhiyan. After the meeting, she stated that she had not come to contest the elections or seek a ticket, but to raise her voice against the injustice done to her and to seek justice for all women. Prashant Kishor listened to her concerns and assured her that Jansuraj would always stand for justice and security.

Jyoti has made serious allegations that Pawan Singh gave her abortion pills and physically tortured her. At a press conference, she stated that Pawan Singh outwardly pretended to want a child, but repeatedly gave her abortion pills. When she protested, she was harassed. Jyoti also said that once, under stress, she consumed 25 sleeping pills, which required hospitalization. Pawan Singh’s brother and team helped with her treatment.
