Will 'Yellowjackets' have a Season 5? Here's what the creators said

The Paramount+ thriller series Yellowjackets will be concluding with the fourth season, its creators announced on Friday. Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson took to Instagram to share a joint statement to this end.

“After three incredible seasons, and great consideration, we’re excited to announce that we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season,” they wrote. “Telling this emotional, wild, and deeply human story has been a profoundly meaningful experience and a true honor for us. Most of all, we want to thank the fans who have stuck with us through every moment, mystery and meal — the Hive is nothing without you! We can’t wait to share the final chapter with you and hope you find it…delicious.”

The show, which originally premiered on Showtime in 2021, later shifted to Paramount+ after the streamer merged with the network.

Actress Samantha Hanratty, one of the lead cast members who plays Misty Quigley, posted an emotional video on her TikTok profile, after learning that Season 4 will be the last. “So, as you can see, we just got the news and it looks like all of you did too. This is gonna be the final season of ‘Yellowjackets'. And I don’t really know how to take it in. Clearly, I’m very emotional and I know all good things must come to an end,” she said, teary-eyed.

Hanratty added that she felt “extremely grateful" for the opportunity to be in the show. “I’m kind of in a mourning process at the idea that it’s gonna be over. But, I just want tell you all how incredibly grateful I am for this show. For the opportunity. For this incredible fan base. And I promise you we are going to make this last season so incredibly amazing and I’m so excited to start working on it.”

Nominated in multiple categories at the Primetime Emmys, Yellowjackets follows a high school female soccer team that tries to survive the aftermath of a plane crash in the Ontario wilderness while the whole experience takes a toll on their mental health as they grow into their adulthood.

Season 3, which concluded in April, starred Hilary Swank, Joel McHale and Ashley Sutton in guest appearances alongside lead cast members Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Lauren Ambrose, Simone Kessell, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Sophie Nélisse, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Kevin Alves, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, and Sarah Desjardins. Juliette Lewis appeared in the first two seasons in an integral role.

For Indian viewers, Yellowjackets is streaming on JioHotstar.
