Bihar Assembly Election: BJP MLA announces decision to leave the party, claims he was insulted, continuously harassed, now he will…

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party has suffered a major political setback in Bihar as Mishrilal Yadav, the BJP MLA from the Alinagar assembly seat in Darbhanga district, has announced his resignation from the party. He levelled serious allegations against the party leadership, stating that the BJP no longer respects the backward classes. The party’s top leadership has become arrogant, and the public will teach them a lesson. Speaking to reporters, Mishrilal Yadav said that Alinagar has not had an NDA MLA for the past 30 years. However, in 2020, he hoisted the BJP’s flag there. Despite this, the party has insulted him. There is no respect for my self-respect within the BJP. I have been continuously harassed. It is no longer possible for a self-respecting person like me to remain in such a party.

I will contest, and I will win

He also stated that he is submitting his resignation to the party’s state president. Mishrilal Yadav made it clear that he will contest the Alinagar election, regardless of which party’s support and candidature he has to claim. However, he has not yet disclosed which party he will join. He said, “I am a secular-minded person, so it’s possible I may join a secular party. But at this point, it’s not decided which party I will join.” He added, “One thing is certain: I will contest the election and win.”

He has served a prison term

It should be noted that BJP MLA Mishrilal Yadav from Darbhanga’s Alinagar Assembly constituency was reinstated as a member of the Legislative Assembly on July 23. Mishrilal Yadav was sentenced to two years in prison on May 27 by the Special MP-MLA Court of Darbhanga in an old assault case. Following this, Mishrilal was jailed, leading to the termination of his Assembly membership on June 20. Although the MLA has already been granted bail by the High Court in this case, the High Court, while hearing the case, quashed the cancellation of his Assembly membership on July 18.
