'Kantara: Chapter 1' worldwide box office collection: Rishab Shetty-starrer to cross Rajinikanth's 'Coolie' today; set to cross 'Saiyaara' in two days

Rishab Shetty's latest release Kantara: Chapter 1 is creating a storm at the box office worldwide. After nine days of its run, the epic mythological action drama has soared past Rs 500 crore worldwide gross - only the fourth Indian film to do so in 2025. It's worldwide collections after nine days stand at Rs 509 crore.

 

Rajinikanth's Coolie (Rs 515 crore), Vicky Kaushal's Chhaava (Rs 790 crore) and the debutant love story Saiyaara (Rs 790 crore) starring Ahaan Pandey and Aneet Padda are the only other films to go past Rs 500 crore worldwide gross this year. On its tenth day, Kantara: Chapter 1 is set to go past the final collection of Coolie and will inch closer to the figures of Saiyaara.

 

The Rishab Shetty-starrer is set to have a sensational second weekend globally and has an outside chance of going past Saiyaara on Sunday (October 12) itself. If not, it should be achieving the feat by Monday (October 13) as the momentum continues to be superstrong for the film in all circuits.

 

In Karnataka, Kantara: Chapter 1 recorded the fastest Rs 150 crore grosser in the state and is set to become the first film to touch the Rs 200 crore gross mark. In Kerala, the film has breached Rs 35 crore gross while in Tamil Nadu, the film has clocked approximately Rs 38 crore in nine days. The AP/TG gross is nearing 87 crore with the distributore share having crossed Rs 50 crore already.

 

The Hindi version is also showing a remarkable trend with the ninth day collection coming to approximately Rs 7 crore nett and Saturday is expected to be in double digits. The nine-day gross is expected to above Rs 130 crore in its Hindi version and a Rs 200 crore gross is a given from here on with Diwali also around the corner.

 

The film has a strong chance to go past the lifetime collections of Chhaava which is currently the top Indian worldwide grosser of 2025.
