Pakistan-Afghanistan Border Clashes Escalate After Kabul Airstrike, Both Sides Claim Gains | ABP News
Border tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan have intensified following a Pakistani airstrike on Kabul earlier this week. The Taliban claimed to have captured three Pakistani border posts during retaliatory attacks at seven points along the border, while Afghanistan’s Defence Ministry confirmed clashes in Kunar and Helmand provinces. Afghan Defence Ministry spokesperson Enayatullah Khwarizmi described the attacks as “successful retaliatory” actions against repeated Pakistani violations. In response, Pakistani state media reported that its forces seized 19 Afghan border posts, with Taliban fighters either killed or fleeing. Footage aired by Pakistan Television (PTV) showed Afghan posts on fire and Taliban soldiers allegedly surrendering in Kurram.
