Bank Holidays Next Week: If you are planning to go to your bank for any banking-related work during festive weeks, please plan it accordingly, as several banks in India will be closed for multiple days this week. The reason for the closing of banks is the upcoming major festivals. The banks, state-run and private, will be closed between October 13 and October 19. Notably, this month is seeing several bank holidays and less banking work because of major festivals such as Navratri, Durga Puja, Karva Chauth, and Diwali.
According to Reserve Bank Of India, private and public sector banks will be closed this week due to bank and regional holidays.
For How Many Days Will Banks Be Closed In October?
Private and public sector banks including SBI, HDFC, ICICI and Canara Bank etc will close for up to 21 days in the month of October because of official bank holidays such as Diwali, Maha Ashtami, Dussehra, Durga Puja and Chhat Puja. These holidays also include monthly and weekly offs. In addition to regional and national holidays RBI requires banks to observe holidays on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month, as well as on all Sundays.
Details Of Bank Holidays From October 13-19, 2025
October 18: Banks will not open in Guwahati due to Kati Bihu festival.
October 19: Banks will be shut across India for Sunday weekly off.
Please Note: Banks will remain open and operate their services on Dhanteras, which also falls on October 18, Saturday.
