Sameer Wankhede makes shocking claims after suing Aryan Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, says ‘People in Pakistan…’
Aryan Khan, who made his directorial debut with The Ba**ds of Bollywood*, has been in the headlines for days. While Khan’s show on Netflix was loved by the audience, it seems that some scenes did not go well with the former Mumbai Zonal Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Sameer Wankhede. Following the release of the series, the ex-NCB officer filed a defamation suit against the makers. The case was in court, but no good news came for Sameer Wankhede. Now, days after the court’s decision, Wankhede has opened up on the matter.
Regarding the defamation case he filed against Red Chillies and Netflix, Wankhede stated, “My personal belief is that this has nothing to do with my job or my profession. In my personal capacity, I’ve approached the Delhi High Court. I wouldn’t like to comment on the court proceedings or the issues involved, as the matter is sub judice… This is a matter of self-respect, personal dignity, and personal honour.”
He added, “Whatever satire or parody you create, do it with your own people or profession. Today, the issue of drug abuse has become a major issue for our nation, and by highlighting such things, you’re insulting not just one person, but those who have worked with me, and others who fight against drug abuse…”
The ex-NCB officer also said that his family has nothing to do with his profession or the cases he handled during his tenure. He revealed that he, along with his family, has been receiving hate messages from Bangladesh, Pakistan, the UAE, and more.
Sameer said, “We have regularly informed the police about the threats that my sister and my wife keep getting…”
On October 8, the Delhi High Court issued summons to Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd and others in connection with a civil defamation suit filed by Sameer Wankhede. Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav directed the issuance of the notice on Wankhede’s plea against Red Chillies Entertainment and other parties.
