Ravindra Jadeja surpasses Harbhajan Singh to storm into India’s legendary top 3 list

Ravindra Jadeja added another milestone to his illustrious career as he stormed into India’s legendary top three list of wicket-takers at home. On Day 4 of the second Test against the West Indies, the left-arm spinner claimed the crucial wicket of John Campbell, surpassing former great Harbhajan Singh to become India’s third-highest wicket-taker on home soil.

India has continued its dominance in Test cricket since the England series, even after the retirement of several senior players. The team’s success has been a collective effort, but one name consistently stands out—Ravindra Jadeja.

Jadeja was in sublime form during the England tour, where he scored over 500 runs at the highest average of the series and also took seven wickets. His all-round brilliance proved vital whenever India’s younger players struggled against the English side.

During the ongoing West Indies series, Jadeja achieved a special landmark by dismissing Campbell for 115, breaking a massive 177-run stand between Campbell and Shai Hope. The wicket took his tally to 377* wickets at home, moving him past Harbhajan Singh’s record of 376. He now sits third on the all-time list, behind only Ravichandran Ashwin (475) and Anil Kumble (476).

Given his exceptional current form and fitness at the age of 36, Jadeja appears set to continue serving India in Test cricket for years to come.

Earlier in the series, he had scored a century in the opening Test at Ahmedabad and claimed four wickets in the second innings. In the ongoing match, his three wickets in the first innings and Campbell’s dismissal place him third among wicket-takers in the series, behind Kuldeep Yadav (12) and Mohammed Siraj (10).
