Sonam Was Not Comfortable with Intimate Scenes
Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa recently revealed that she previously turned down several Bollywood films because they required kissing scenes, bedroom, and intimate scenes. In an interview, Sonam admitted that she now regrets turning down those opportunities. She also said that at the time, she had no idea how those who knew her would react. “Would they understand my compulsion?” she asked. “But today, all of that doesn’t matter.”
Concern About Punjab and the Family’s Reaction
Sonam Bajwa told Film Companion, “I refused certain things in Bollywood because I thought, ‘Will Punjab have a problem with this?’ We think that family will see me. At that time, I was very scared of doing a kissing scene in a film because I thought, ‘How will people react to this? How will these people, who have made me who I am, react to this? Will my family understand that this is just for a film?’ I had all these questions in my mind.”
Parents Gave Permission for Kissing Scene
Sonam further revealed that her parents were completely supportive. “It was a few years ago, and I talked to my parents about it. They said, ‘Yes, if it’s for a film, then it’s fine.’ And I was so surprised. Why didn’t I talk to them before? We assume so many things in our minds. I was so embarrassed to talk to my parents about it, and they said, ‘No, it’s the film, no affair.’”
Sonam Bajwa’s Work Front
Sonam is gearing up for the release of her film Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat. The Bollywood film is set to hit the big screen on October 21. She was last seen in Baaghi 4 alongside Tiger Shroff.
