How will leader facing fraud charges change Bihar: BJP takes dig at Tejashwi
The BJP on Monday slammed RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi and son Tejashwi Yadav for their alleged corruption, asking how leaders, facing fraud charges, would change Bihar.
Referring to the Delhi court framing charges against the trio under sections of fraud and conspiracy, Senior BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said the RJD’s social justice has been all about serving the Lalu family.
“Today, the court in the IRCTC scam case has framed charges under Section 120-B and 420 of the IPC against former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi and their son Tejashwi Yadav for corruption in the allocation of government property, conspiracy and disturbing the government’s decision-making process. Tejashwi Yadav has set out to ‘change Bihar’. When someone has such a reputation and such charges, how can he change Bihar?” asked Prasad.
He said the top victims of the RJD’s land for job scam have been the poor. “On what basis is Tejashwi giving every family in Bihar the promise of a government job? If this is his model, then the land of the people of Bihar will also be taken away. Jobs will not be given, but the land will be taken,” the BJP leader said.
Prasad said the entire rule of Lalu Prasad Yadav in Bihar could be summarised in four sentences. “Eating Chara…drinking Alkatra…manipulating tenders while distributing government property…‘Jameen Do, Naukri Lo’. A special feature of this model is that all benefits go only to the family. These four models have remained the identity of Lalu Raj," Prasad said.
