NHAI: Report dirty toilets on national highways and get Rs 1,000 recharge on your FASTag
FASTag Recharge: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a new initiative to promote cleanliness. If a traveler uploads a photo of a dirty toilet on the highway to the “Highway Yatri” app, they will receive a FASTag recharge reward of ₹1,000. This campaign will run until October 31, 2025, and will only apply to toilets owned by the NHAI.
NHAI: Report Dirty Toilets, Get FASTag Recharge. The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has launched a new initiative in line with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Now, if you spot a dirty toilet at a toll plaza and report it to NHAI, you will receive a reward of ₹1,000 in the form of a FASTag recharge. This scheme will be applicable on national highways across the country until October 31, 2025.
How to report and receive the reward?
Under this scheme, highway travelers can upload geo-tagged and time-stamped photos of dirty toilets using the new version of the Rajmargyatra app. They will also need to enter their name, location, vehicle registration number (VRN), and mobile number. If the report is found to be correct after verification, a FASTag recharge of ₹1,000 will be credited to the vehicle number.
What are the terms and conditions of the reward?
Each vehicle registration number will receive a reward only once during the entire duration of the scheme. Similarly, a single toilet will only be considered for a reward once per day, even if multiple complaints are filed. If multiple people report the same toilet on the same day, only the first correct report will receive a reward.
Photos will be strictly scrutinized.
NHAI stated that only clear, original, and geo-tagged photos taken through the app will be valid. Duplicate, old, or edited photos will not be accepted. All entries will be verified using artificial intelligence (AI) and manual verification, ensuring that only those who submit accurate reports receive the reward.
Where will this scheme be implemented?
This scheme will only apply to toilets built, operated, or maintained by NHAI. Toilets at petrol pumps, dhabas, or other private public places will not be covered. This initiative will promote cleanliness.
