Absconder held after two years

JAMMU, Oct 14: Jammu and Kashmir Police in RS Pura area have arrested an individual who was evading his arrest in a criminal case for the past two years.
Mohammad Yaqoob alias Yaqoob Ali of Sher Tamber, Barnoti, Tehsil and District Kathua, was wanted for his involvement in case FIR number 68/2023 under sections 363, 376, 109 IPC and 3/4/16/17 of the POCSO Act registered at Police Station RS Pura but he was absconding for the last two years, a police official said.
The Fast Track Court (Rape & POCSO cases) Jammu had also issued a warrant under section 299 of the CrPc against the accused, he said.
The police official said he was arrested today on the basis of intelligence generated by a team of Police Station RS Pura led by SHO concerned, Inspector RS Parihar.
Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the Fast Track Court (Rape and POCSO cases) Jammu, he said.
