Kantara: A Legend Chapter 1

The Hindi version of Rishab Shetty's 'Kantara: Chapter 1' has now collected Rs 150 crore, latest box office data show, as the folklore fantasy flick's worldwide gross breached Rs 635.5 crore.

'Kantara: Chapter 1' managed around Rs 13.50 crore on Tuesday, Sacnilk's early data showed, claiming that the movie earned Rs 451.75 crore net domestically in 12 days. It already went past KGF 2's collections in Karnataka and is on course to become the first Rs 200 crore grosser in the state. The 12-day collections are at Rs 170 crore.

It was an influencer and movie analyst who broke the news of the Kannada movie's Hindi version crossing the Rs 150 crore mark. Later, Sacnilk added that it is estimated to have got somewhere around Rs 6.25 to Rs 6.75 crore net on Tuesday alone. "#KantaraChapter1 crosses the ₹ 150 cr mark on its second Monday… A 37.32% drop from second Friday reflects strong trending… With the discounted ticket offer in place today [Tuesday], the business is expected to witness substantial growth once again," he jotted on X. Further breaking down the box office collection of the Hindi version, he added: "[Week 2] Fri 7.10 cr, Sat 14.37 cr, Sun 14.65 cr, Mon 4.45 cr. Total: ₹ 150.67 cr."

The arrival of Diwali releases may slow down its climb to achieve a Rs 700 crore gross. However, as things stand, it is inevitable that the most-anticipated Kannada movie of the year will fall short.

'Kantara: A Legend Chapter-1' is the fourth Indian film to enter the Rs 500 crore club in 2024. Earlier, this milestone was achieved by films like 'Coolie', 'Saiyaara', and 'Chhaava.'

Yash's 'KGF Chapter 2' is the only previous Kannada movie to cross Rs 500 crore.
