Premanand Ji Maharaj Health BIG Update: Vrindavan Saint issues statement, says ‘I wish my kidneys fail in…’ devotees to…
New Delhi: It’s been years now that Premanand Ji Maharaj, the renowned saint of Vrindavan, has been suffering from kidney problems. Recently, the health condition deteriorated, leaving his followers deeply concerned and worried. Meanwhile, Premanand Ji Maharaj said that he wishes for his kidneys to fail in every lifetime. He expressed this desire and also shared an interesting reason behind it.
Recently, Baba Bageshwar Dhirendra Krishna Shastri visited Keli Kunj Ashram to seek Premanand Maharaj and inquire about his health. During their meeting, Baba Bageshwar told him that he was not ill, but that this was his leela (divine play). Hearing this, Premanand Maharaj burst into laughter.
In response to a question, Premanand Maharaj said that what he gained from kidney failure did not come through spiritual practice (sadhana).
Premanand Maharaj said, “Divine strength arises when one contemplates God — then, nothing remains unfavorable. All adversities turn into blessings. My kidneys have given me more grace than any sadhana ever did. When my kidneys failed, I attained true realization — the realization of surrender. I felt that I was no longer capable of doing anything; that I was finished. Now, only Ladli (the Divine Beloved) remains my strength. From that very moment, everything changed. What happened was not because of sadhana — it happened when the ego of sadhana ended. The thought that ‘I am doing this sadhana, I am performing that sadhana’ disappeared. And when the body was no longer capable of practicing sadhana, I transcended it. That’s when the turning point came — what was broken for lifetimes finally got fixed.”
He further said, “Now I pray to be born again and again, and may my kidneys fail in every birth — so that I remain lost in the love and pride of my Beloved. It doesn’t matter what happens. If my heart is stolen by my Divine Beloved, there’s no greater blessing. That happens only when I am no longer capable of anything. When I felt within that I was finished, that I was of no worth, my Ladli ji said, ‘It is for Me — I will make everything right.’
The situation may look very serious and painful. My daily routine starts at 1 a.m. and ends around 9 a.m. Even with this frail body, such a rigorous schedule continues — it’s all by the grace of Shri Ji. Truly, immense is Her compassion.”
