L-G Sinha assures rehabilitation and justice for J&K terror victims
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said his administration will ensure that cases are registered in all Pakistan-backed terror incidents in the Union Territory and that all victims will receive justice.
“We have started a campaign in the last three to four months. We will ensure that justice is done to all victims of terror,” Sinha told reporters after visiting Dardpora village in Kupwara district, where he met families of civilian martyrs killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists.
He addressed families of terror victims at Government Degree College Kupwara and assured them of proper rehabilitation and the strictest punishment for the culprits. The Lieutenant Governor said the criminal justice system will hold perpetrators and elements of the terror ecosystem accountable, providing a sense of justice and closure for victims’ families and society at large.
“I have assured the family members that their decades-long trauma, torment, and suffering is over. We will provide all the support necessary so that they can reclaim their lives,” the L-G said.
He also observed that families of civilian martyrs have endured deep trauma and faced numerous challenges, including unemployment and lack of education, losing hope over the past three decades.
“Families of civilians killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists also suffered systemic barriers that stifled their progress. They were denied their rights and access to resources. All obstacles have now been removed, and we are ensuring justice and dignity for terror victim families,” the Lieutenant Governor added.
Paying homage to the civilians mercilessly killed by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, the L-G also listened to the families recount their ordeals.
He said more than 250 people who suffered at the hands of terrorists have been given jobs in Jammu and Kashmir. “This mission will continue until justice is done for every affected family. This is the beginning of a new era of justice in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
“The remaining cases are also in progress. Jobs will be provided after the elections,” he added.
Later, taking to social media, Sinha said the administration will ensure all support to terror victims so that they can reclaim their lives.
“Today, interacted with terror victim families at Dardpora, Kupwara. Also addressed the next of kin of terror victims at GDC, Kupwara. I have assured family members that their decades-long trauma, torment and suffering is over. We’ll ensure all the support so that they can reclaim their lives,” he said on X.
The Lieutenant Governor further said that Pakistani terrorists and their support system in the Valley have run a false narrative for three decades to absolve Pakistan of responsibility.
“Pakistan, the breeding ground of terrorism, is now exposed, and those involved in peddling a fake narrative on behalf of terrorists will be brought to justice,” he said.
