Kerala casting couch: Claiming to be with Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films, associate director invites woman to Kochi, tries to...

Wayfarer Films said that they have no links to the accused

A case was registered against associate director Dinil Babu, who was accused of misbehaving with a woman in Kochi. Dinil told the woman to come to a location, claiming it to be the office of Wayfarer Films—the production house of actor Dulquer Salmaan. Once they were alone in a room, Dinil Babu reportedly tried to embrace her, the complainant told a Malayalam media outlet.

The complainant said she knew Dinil already as they had worked together before. She was thus unsuspecting when she got a call from him regarding an opportunity to work with Wayfarer Films. Dinil even promised the presence of female staff at the office, the report said.

However, when the woman reached the spot accompanied by her husband, there was no female staff, and she was asked to accompany him to a room by Dinil. Once inside, he latched the door from behind and touched her inappropriately, she told the Media One channel. She retreated to the washroom and bolted the door. Dinil fled before her husband reached the room, the report added.

The couple then filed a complaint with the Ernakulam South police.

Dinil Babu threatened that he would finish her career in the industry if she went public, the artist claimed. Meanwhile, the accused said that she did nothing wrong but fled from what was an attempted honey trap. She was demanding money from him for two days, and the complaint was filed when he didn't budge, Dinil was quoted as saying by Media One. He also apologised for the inconvenience the incident caused Wayfarer Films, the report added.

Wayfarer Films, which produced the industry hit 'Lokah: Chapter 1 Chandra' earlier this year, meanwhile filed a complaint against Dinil for defaming its name. Wayfarer Films claimed to have no association with him and never to have worked with him in the past. The production house also filed a complaint against him with the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA).
