'Farzi' Season 2 confirmed? Shahid Kapoor to shoot for Prime Video series soon: Report

Fans of Prime Video's Farzi might have something to rejoice. The second season is reportedly in the works, with Shahid Kapoor set to reprise his role from the first season for a story that's said to be relatively bigger. 

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, the actor will shoot for the new season in January 2026, after he completes filming Cocktail 2, co-starring Rashmika Mandanna and Kriti Sanon. The Maddock Films production is currently filming in Italy, and expected to conclude in December.

"Farzi is in the writing stage, and Amazon Prime, along with Raj and DK are excited to start the shoot for the second season from January 2026. Shahid has allotted 6 months to the shoot and is getting a fat pay cheque. Shahid is drawing Rs. 40 crores for Farzi 2. This is the biggest pay cheque for him in his acting career, and this stems from the appreciation received by the first part," says the report. 

The first season, helmed by Raj & DK (Family Man Seasons 1 & 2), also featured Vijay Sethupathi and Kay Kay Menon as leads alongside Shahid.

Meanwhile, Shahid is also looking forward to the release of O'Romeo, his fourth collaboration with director Vishal Bhardwaj, with whom the actor worked in Kaminey, Haider, and Rangoon.

Co-starring Tripti Dimrii, Nana Patekar, Farida Jalal, and a surprise cameo from a notable actor, whose name is being kept under wraps, the film will hit theatres on Valentine's Day 2026. 

In an earlier note announcing filming completion, Shahid wrote, "Excitement levels are off the charts. Our secretly titled soon to be announced film is done. As always it’s a new world and a madly different character for me to play. A titular part from him for the 3rd time. I am one of the KAMINEY I am HAIDER and now I am …….. This post can’t be complete without including the stellar cast: Tripti Dimri who I had a total blast with. Watch out for her act in this one. Nana Patekar, thank you for those oh so layered scenes we got together. Farida Jalal ji, for your warmth and grace.
