Centre extends Jagjot Lalli’s term as Deputy Solicitor General at HC

The Centre today extended the term of Jagjot Singh Lalli as Deputy Solicitor General of India at the Punjab and Haryana High Court for a period of three years.

“The President is pleased to extend the term of Shri Jagjot Singh Lalli, Deputy Solicitor General of India for the Punjab and Haryana High Court at Chandigarh, for a further period of three years with effect from October 18, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” a Ministry of Law and Justice notification read.

Jagjot Lalli was initially appointed as Deputy Solicitor General of India by the Ministry of Legal Affairs, Government of India, on October 18, 2022 and since then he has been representing the Union of India in the Punjab and Haryana High Court in various matters.

He has represented various departments such as ED, SFIO, Armed Forces, Boards and Corporations and Central Government Educational Institutes before the Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Jagjot Singh Lalli is also the Litigation In-charge for the Armed Forces Tribunal, Regional Bench, Chandigarh since March. 2024.

A law graduate from Punjab University, Jagjot Singh Lalli is a first generation lawyer hailing from Gurdaspur District of Punjab.

Lalli has been practising in Punjab and Haryana High Court since September 2004. He was the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association Vice President during 2016-17.
