When you think of Bollywood’s most dazzling Diwali parties, one address instantly comes to mind: Mannat, Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic Mumbai home. Every year, the superstar and his wife, Gauri Khan, transformed their sea-facing mansion into a shimmering celebration zone, welcoming the biggest names from the film industry. From Karan Johar, Kajol, and Juhi Chawla to Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor, and Alia Bhatt, everyone turned up in their festive best.
But this year, yet again, Mannat’s doors will remain closed for the festival of lights.
Why is Shah Rukh Khan skipping his Diwali party?
The grandeur that once defined Mannat’s Diwali nights has taken a quiet turn. For the past few years, including the post-COVID phase, Shah Rukh and Gauri have stopped hosting their annual get-together. The reason, as many fans already know, is quite simple: Mannat is still under renovation.
The family has temporarily moved to another residence, which also happens to be in the same building as actor-producer Jackky Bhagnani’s home. However, even there, the Khans won’t be celebrating with a Diwali bash.
SRK’s manager, Pooja Dadlani, confirmed the news to HT City, saying that the power couple will not be hosting a party this year either. This marks the third consecutive year that the Khans have opted for an intimate family Diwali rather than their usual star-studded celebration.
Who else is skipping the festivities?
Interestingly, the Khans aren’t the only ones keeping it low-key this festive season. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana and his wife Tahira Kashyap Khurrana have also decided to give their annual Diwali celebration a miss. Sources reveal that Ayushmann is completely tied up with his upcoming Diwali release Thamma, leaving him no time to play host.
Meanwhile, some of the industry’s other big names, Manish Malhotra, Ramesh Taurani, and Ankita Lokhande, have already wrapped up their glittering Diwali parties, lighting up social media with glamorous glimpses.
Who’s still hosting this season?
All is not quiet in Bollywood, though. Filmmaker Nikkhil Advani is set to host his Diwali bash on October 18 in Mumbai. Following him, Kriti Sanon will throw her much-awaited Diwali party on October 19. Kriti’s 2022 celebration was the talk of the town, and her upcoming bash promises the same star power.
Actor Dia Mirza Rekhi is also expected to celebrate Diwali on October 20, with an intimate gathering that includes her close friends Aditi Rao Hydari, Divya Dutta, and Sayani Gupta.
And if you think the parties end there, think again. Producer Anand Pandit will close the festive season with a post-Diwali bash on October 25, adding one last sparkle to this year’s Bollywood celebrations.
