APS Dagshai marks 39th Founder’s Day with tributes to talent, valour

Army Public School (APS) Dagshai celebrated its 39th Founder’s Day on Thursday with a vibrant cultural display and a proud reflection of its academic and co-curricular achievements. The event was graced by Maj Gen Himanshu Bhatnagar, CSO, HQ Western Command and the school’s patron, as chief guest.

Col SP Bishnoi, Commanding Officer, Training Battalion, 14 GTC Subathu, attended as guest of honour.

The programme began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries, signalling the start of an event that reflected the school’s core values of discipline, creativity, and perseverance. A series of cultural performances showcased the diverse talents of students and their deep connection with India’s cultural heritage.

Addressing the gathering, the principal, Ritambra Ghai, presented the school report, outlining APS Dagshai’s recent accomplishments in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. She expressed gratitude to the school management and parents for their continued support, highlighting their role in the institution’s pursuit of excellence.

Centred on the theme ‘Viksit Bharat: A Step Towards Self-Dependency’, the Founder’s Day celebrations echoed the nation’s vision for progress. The cultural segment featured captivating dance performances and a moving theatrical enactment titled ‘Operation Sindoor’, paying tribute to the valour of the Indian Armed Forces and the resilience of the nation — earning resounding applause from the audience.

The day also recognised student achievements, with honours awarded across academics, athletics, and co-curricular activities. Nehru House was declared the overall champion, lifting the coveted cock house trophy. Videh Pratap Singh from the Class of 2024-25 was named best student of the year for his exemplary all-round performance.

Maj Gen Bhatnagar, commended the school’s progressive vision and disciplined environment and assured continued support from Army Education Welfare authorities. He said major infrastructural developments were underway to further enhance the school’s facilities.
