Odisha govt introduces online land demarcation for industries, eliminating multiple tehsil visits

In a significant reform, the Odisha government has simplified the procedure for land demarcation for industrial and corporate sectors, allowing applicants to complete the process online without repeated visits to the tehsil office.
The move aims to reduce administrative delays, curb unnecessary intermediaries, and provide fixed schedules for officials to visit sites for verification.
Online Application Streamlines Process
According to reports, industries and corporate applicants can now apply for land demarcation through the Odisha Revenue Services portal.
By visiting the designated website (https://odisharevenueservices.nic.in), applicants must navigate to the “Land Record Services” section and select the link titled “Apply for Demarcation (For Industries/Corporate Sectors only).”
Applicants would then need to provide personal details, including name, father’s or husband’s name, complete address, valid PIN, and an active mobile number. An SMS notification confirming application details will be sent to the registered number.

Land Details and Required Documents
The application requires information about the land to be demarcated, including the tehsil name, village name, khata number, and plot number. Applicants may select multiple plots, one khata at a time.
Supporting documents must be uploaded, including the Record of Rights (RoR) copy or lease deed, sketch map of the plots, and industrial credentials such as EIN, IEM, Udyog Aadhaar, Udyog Certificate, or Udyam Registration.
Submission, Fee Payment
After uploading all documents, applicants click the ‘Submit’ button to generate a unique application number for future correspondence. Fees can be paid online via net banking or debit/credit cards through the Treasury Portal of Odisha.
Upon successful payment, an acknowledgement cum payment receipt is generated. Applicants are advised to verify payment status using the transaction ID if a receipt is not immediately available.

Fixed Demarcation Date by Tehsildar
Following verification, the respective Tehsildar will schedule a fixed date for land demarcation. On the appointed day, the Tahsildar, along with the Amin and local police, visits the site to complete the demarcation.
Notifications regarding the date are sent via SMS to the applicant’s registered mobile number, eliminating the need for repeated visits or negotiations.
