Dr. Tanu Jain, who has become incredibly popular on social media for her tips on UPSC Civil Services preparation and the mock interview reels and short videos, is often asked on social media about why she left her civil services job. Tanu Jain, originally from the Sadar area of Delhi, completed her schooling at Cambridge School in the city. Speaking about her educational qualification, Tanu went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Surgery (BDS) from Subharti Medical College in Meerut. She decided to pursue a career in civil services and began preparing for the UPSC exam.

Initially, she managed to pass the preliminary examination in just two months on her first attempt. Although she was able to clear the prelims in just two months of preparation on her first try, she was unable to pass the mains. Undeterred, she kept working hard, and it was on her third attempt in 2014 that she gained an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 648.

She began her first posting in the Armed Forces Headquarters service in 2015. Now, she has commenced the Tathasthu Institute of Civil Services(ICS). She worked as an Assistant Director at DRDO and does mock interviews at Drishti IAS coaching.

Dr. Tanu Jain, once an IAS officer, decided to pursue a new passion that was outside of the power and authority she safeguarded as a public servant. Despite the accolades and success she received from her post, the desire to give back to people in a more substantive manner spoke to her and compelled her to resign from her post, after serving it with deep commitment for seven years. She founded the Tathasthu Institute of Civil Services(ICS), where she mentors and motivates aspiring civil servants.
