'Dude' worldwide box office collection Day 2 early estimates and Day 1 updated: Trends suggest another big day
Pradeep Ranganathan's latest release Dude is showing a strong trend on its second day at the Tamil Nadu box office. The comedy entertainer is seeing reasonably good feedback from the viewers and with a long Diwali weekend, it is expected to rake in big opening numbers at the box office.
On its opening day, Dude collected Rs 6.20 crore gross in Tamil Nadu and had an all-India gross of Rs 12 crore with the overseas collections coming to around Rs 5.50 crore. It takes the opening day worldwide collections to Rs 17.50 crore, comfortably Pradeep's biggest opening day numbers and an excellent worldwide start for an actor of his stature.
The opening indicates his growing buzz amongst the audience as an upcoming star and if Dude's opening is anything to go by, he might be heading towards a hat-trick of blockbusters as hero after Love Today and Dragon. It is, however, too early to predict the long run but the initial weekend seems to be in good shape.
Dude's second day is seeing a surge in collections in Tamil Nadu. The morning shows were on par with the first day but afternoon shows have seen a jump of 15 percent. The evening and night shows should show further growth being a weekend, thereby hinting at a definite jump in collections on its second day.
As per early estimates, Dude's second day collections in Tamil Nadu seem to be in Rs 7-9 crore range. The collections in the Telugu states have also seen a 15 percent jump in afternoon shows and is set for a good day there as well. The second day gross in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana seems to be heading towards the Rs 4-5 crore range.
Dude's overseas feedback hasn't been as strong as in India but the Diwali factor should still ensure a decent opening for the film.
