Kerala box office collection records: Which films have crossed Rs 50 crore in Kerala?

Kantara: Chapter 1 continues to run riot at the box office across all territories in India and overseas. It is already the all-time top grosser in its native state Karnataka and is showing blockbuster trends in all other circuits in India.
In Kerala, the film took a smashing start at the ticket windows and has consistently shown strong trends in collections. After 16 days, Kantara: Chapter 1 has grossed Rs 47.50 crore in the state and with Diwali holidays still to come, a lot more fuel is still left in the tank.
Till date, 16 films have gone past the Rs 50 crore mark in Kerala and the Rishab Shetty-starrer is set to become the latest entrant to the club. Here is the complete list of films that have achieved this milestone in the state (by chronological order).
Pulimurugan (2016)
Mohanlal's mass entertainer directed by Vysakh was the first film to go past Rs 50 crore in Kerala. It also breached the Rs 75 crore barrier and ended with collections of Rs 85.10 crore in the state.
Bahubali 2 (2017)
SS Rajamouli's epic period drama was the biggest Indian blockbuster at the time of release and became the first other language film to gross Rs 50 crore in Kerala. It ended with massive collections of Rs 75 crore.
Lucifer (2019)
Prithviraj's directorial debut starring Mohanlal was a smash-hit and became the second-highest worldwide grosser in Mollywood with the Kerala collections ending at around Rs 66.50 crore.
KGF 2 (2022)
Like Bahubali 2 in 2017, KGF 2 ran riot in 2022 across India and abroad with worldwide box office collections well above Rs 1000 crore gross. In Kerala, Yash's action entertainer ended with Rs 67 crore gross.
2018 Movie (2023)
This multi-starrer film based on the 2018 Kerala floods became Mollywood's new Industry Hit overcoming Pulimurugan and ended with a gross of Rs 89.10 crore in the state.
Jailer (2023)
Rajinikanth notched up Kollywood's first Rs 50 crore grosser in Kerala with this Nelson directorial that became a huge blockbuster worldwide. In Kerala, the mass entertainer ended with Rs 58 crore gross.
Leo (2023)
Two months after Jailer, Kollywood had another Rs 50 crore grosser in Kerala with Vijay's Leo. This Lokesh Kanagaraj-directorial ended with Rs 60 crore gross, becoming the biggest Tamil hit in Kerala.
Premalu (2024)
This rom-com starring Naslen and Mamitha Baiju became a runaway blockbuster, surprising everyone with a tremendous run at the box office. It ended with Kerala gross of Rs 62.80 crore.
Manjummel Boys (2024)
Mollywood found a new Industry Hit in this survival drama that smashed records worldwide. It's Kerala gross ended at Rs 72 crore but it's unprecedented run outside the state made it a record-breaker.
Aadujeevitham (2024)
Prithviraj Sukumaran's survival drama won critical acclaim and also registered excellent numbers, ending with a Kerala gross of Rs 79.28 crore.
Aavesham (2024)
Fahadh Faasil's mass masala entertainer became an instant blockbuster and had a superb run in Kerala, grossing Rs 76.10 crore.
ARM (2024)
Tovino Thomas' fantasy entertainer became his career-best blockbuster and grossed Rs 68.75 crore in the state.
Empuraan (2025)
Sequel to Lucifer, Mohanlal's Prithviraj's directorial became Mollywood's new Industry hit although it's Kerala collections ended at Rs 86.25 crore, behind 2018.
Thudarum (2025)
Mohanlal ensured that he reclaimed the Kerala box office with this film that also became the first Rs 100 crore grosser in the state, eventually ending with Rs 118.90 crore in its full run.
Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra (2025)
Mollywood saw its second Industry Hit of the year and first Rs 300 crore worldwide grosser as this fantasy action flick roared past Rs 100 crore in Kerala, beating Thudarum to get past Rs 121 crore gross.
