New facilities will be available in AC coaches of trains, passengers will be delighted, Railway Minister has started it.

On the first day of this pilot project, packets of new blanket covers were given to passengers travelling in the air-conditioned (AC) coaches of the Jaipur-Ahmedabad (Asarva) Express, which departs at 8:45 pm.

Along with bedsheets, pillow covers, and towels, passengers will now receive a blanket cover as part of their bedrolls on trains. Passengers often complain that they receive new sheets and pillow covers, but are forced to use blankets used by other passengers. This will no longer be the case. Like pillow covers, they will also receive new blanket covers. While this service has been launched as a pilot project on the Jaipur-Ahmedabad (Asarva) Express train, it will be expanded to other trains in the future.

Railway Minister Launches Service

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav launched the traditional Sanganeri print blanket cover service at Jaipur’s Khatipura railway station on Thursday. On the first day of this pilot project, passengers traveling in the air-conditioned (AC) coaches of the Jaipur-Ahmedabad (Asarva) Express, which departs at 8:45 pm, were given packets of new blanket covers, a step towards passenger convenience and cleanliness. He explained that the Railways has taken a major decision to address passenger complaints regarding blankets. Now, passengers will receive blanket covers along with blankets on trains. This has been implemented on a pilot basis.

The service will also be available on other trains.

Speaking to the media, Ashwini Vaishnav stated that blankets have been used in our railway system for years, but passengers have always had some doubts. To address this concern, a new initiative has been launched today, under which blankets will now be provided along with blankets on trains. He further stated that this has been initiated on a pilot basis, with blankets and covers provided to passengers on only one train departing from Jaipur. Based on the results of the pilot project, this initiative will be expanded to other trains.

Expansion of Several Other Passenger Amenities

The Union Minister inaugurated new platforms, platform upgrades and expansions, as well as an integrated passenger information system at 65 small and medium stations under the North Western Railway. He stated that facilities have been enhanced even at smaller stations. Work has been done on platform height, length, platform covers, etc. Signboards are being installed for passenger information. All these things are installed at about 65 stations in Rajasthan.
