Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of snowfall and rain in hilly areas on Sunday. Light rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir will bring down the mercury, increasing the cold in the plains.
These States Will Expect Torrential Rain
According to the Meteorological Department, due to the cyclonic circulation and the northeast monsoon, heavy to very heavy rain is likely to occur in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, southern Maharashtra, Kerala, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. Lakshadweep and Puducherry will also be affected. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain at all these places.
Temperatures to Fall in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand
According to the IMD, cloud cover will continue in hilly states like Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand until October 30th. During this period, some areas may experience light rain and snowfall. Light to moderate rain with lightning is expected in Uttarakhand for the next two days, particularly in the hilly states. This could lead to a significant drop in temperatures in the hilly states.
Clouds to Remain Today, Light Rain Expected in Indore and Bhopal
Due to the influence of two weather systems at different locations, moisture is being carried by winds, resulting in cloud cover over many cities in the state, with rainfall occurring in some places. Due to the shift in wind direction and cloud cover, night temperatures are also rising.
On Saturday, the lowest temperature in the state was recorded in Rewa at 15.9 degrees Celsius. Night temperatures in 22 cities remained below 20 degrees Celsius. The highest daytime temperature of 34.3 degrees Celsius was recorded in Guna.
Bhopal, Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain to experience drizzle
According to meteorologists, the weather conditions may remain this way for the next three to four days. Light rain or drizzle is possible at isolated places in the districts of Bhopal, Jabalpur, Narmadapuram, Indore, and Ujjain divisions.
PK Raikwar, a senior scientist at the Meteorological Center, stated that a cyclone has formed in the upper air masses over the southeastern Arabian Sea and the adjoining Lakshadweep region. On Saturday, it intensified into a deep low-pressure area off the coast of Kerala and adjoining Karnataka.
Cyclone persists over the Bay of Bengal
It is expected to move west-northwestward. A cyclone has formed in the upper air masses over the southeastern Bay of Bengal. It is expected to develop into a low-pressure area by October 24th.
