New Delhi: A shocking and horrifying incident has come to light from India’s capital city, Delhi, where a dispute over an extramarital affair claimed the lives of two young people. A 22-year-old pregnant woman was brutally stabbed to death by her ex-live-in partner in public view in the Ram Nagar area on Saturday. The victim woman’s husband killed the attacker with the same knife. Shalini, who was a homemaker, had two daughters. Her 23-year-old husband, Akash, is an e-rickshaw driver and is admitted to the hospital after sustaining injuries during the attack on his wife. The accused was identified as 34-year-old Aashu alias Shailendra. He was a history-sheeter and had an affair with Shalini.
What Exactly Happened?
Aashu claimed that Shalini was pregnant with his child and was angry with her decision to live with her husband, police said.
The accused claimed that the victim woman was pregnant with his child. Furious over Shalini’s marriage and her decision to live with her husband, stabbed on Saturday night. The incident took place on Saturday night when Akash and Shalini had gone to meet the latter’s mother at Qutub Road. Aashu, who appeared out of nowhere, attacked Akash with a knife, but he dodged the attack. The accused then approached Shalini, who was sitting in an e-rikshaw, and stabbed her several times.
Akash also sustained injuries while saving her wife, but he managed to overpower Aashu, stabbing him to death.
Who Took Victims To The Hospital?
Rohit, Shalini’s brother, rushed her and Akash to the hospital. Police also arrived at the crime scene and took Aashu to the same facility. At the hospital, doctors declared Shalini and Ashu brought dead. Akash suffered stab injuries and is undergoing treatment, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Nidhin Valsan said in a statement.
The police have lodged a murder case on a statement by Shalini’s mother. The bodies were sent for autopsy.
