EXCLUSIVE: Syam Pushkaran joins Naslen's musical film with 'Kumbalangi Nights' director

Naslen is one of the most happening young actors in the Malayalam film industry. While Premalu's success in 2024 catapaulted him to national fame, Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra in 2025 has furthered his brand value although he didn't have a prominent role in the latter. Nevertheless, Naslen is an actor who is touted to be one of the next-gen superstars in Mollywood.

 

A series of potentially exciting projects are there in Naslen's kitty, one of which features a film with Madhu C Narayanan who directed the cult classic Kumbalangi Nights. According to inside sources, the film is expected to be a musical film revolving around a band and has music by Rex Vijayan.

 

Most of the Kumbalangi Nights crew has been retained with veteran Syam Pushakaran being the latest to join the film in the scripting section. Muhsin Parari, another noted writer, was previously the sole writer in the screenplay department while the film's core story is by KR Sunil who wrote Mohanlal's recent blockbuster Thudarum. Shyju Khalid, who was part of Kumbalangi Nights too, will be the cinematographer for this movie.

 

Naslen is on a hot streak following the successes of Premalu, Alappuzha Gymkhana and Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra. Apart from this untitled film with Narayanan, Naslen also has two other major projects lined up. The action entertainer Tiki Taka has an ensemble cast that is led by Asif Ali and has Naslen in a pivotal role.

 

Naslen is also part of another multi-starrer project Torpedo that is directed by Tharun Moorthy who is fresh off the success of Thudarum. The film has Fahadh Faasil and Arjun Das alongside Naslen in what is expected to be an ambitious thriller.
