6 more dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Oct 20: Six more dengue cases were reported across the Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday, taking the total number of infections this year to 2,168.

As many as 18 tests were conducted on October 19. Of the new cases, 3 are males and 3 females, all adults. Jammu district reported 4 cases, raising its total to 960. Kathua and Samba detected two cases each.
So far, 20,277 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, whereas the total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 3,694 cases.
Hospital data shows four new admissions today while four patients were discharged after they fully recovered. Nine patients are still under treatment in various hospitals.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
