Dressed in traditional attire, he is seen performing Laxmi Pooja in front of a beautifully decorated mandir, along with his sister and brother-in-law for the festivities.

Ahead of the Diwali festivities, Abhishek Sharma was focused on preparing for his maiden tour of Australia for the five-match T20I series. The explosive batter was spotted training with his mentor, the legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.

In an Instagram video, Abhishek Sharma was seen practicing his batting, running match simulations, and even bowling a few deliveries. He was joined by players like Abdul Samad, Abhishek Porel, and several players who have featured in the Indian Premier League.

Abhishek has established himself as a key player in Team India’s T20I

Since his T20I debut, Abhishek Sharma has established himself as a key player in Team India’s T20I setup, opening the innings alongside Test and ODI captain Shubman Gill. The 25-year-old will be excited to showcase his batting prowess on his first tour of Australia, facing challenges from pace and bounce. In the recently concluded Asia Cup 2025, the left-hander finished as the tournament’s leading run-scorer, as he scored 314 runs in seven matches.

Abhishek surpassed Dawid Malan’s ICC T20I rating points

He was recently awarded the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for September 2025. The left-handed batter also set a new record in the ICC men’s T20I player rankings, thanks to his outstanding performances in last month’s Asia Cup.

Abhishek Sharma, the No. 1 T20I batter, has achieved 931 rating points, surpassing the previous record of 919 set by England’s Dawid Malan in 2020 by 12 points.
