Faridabad to be model dist by next Diwali: Goel

Calling Faridabad a district with immense untapped potential state Urban Local Bodies Minister Vipul Goel said that it would emerge as model district by next Diwali.

Goel was in the city to light a 15-foot-tall asha deep (lamp of hope) at Labour Chowk, Faridabad. Goel said that this symbolised hope and commitment to making Faridabad a model city across all metrics: infrastructure, education, cleanliness, environment and smart services.

“The festival holds real significance when we resolve to carry its light to every corner of society. Faridabad has achieved a lot but still we have a long way to go . We need to fill our hearts with hope and toil to regain the lost grandeu,” said Goel.

The asha deep is creatively constructed using recycled ghee and oil cans. The minister highlighted that the lamp stood as a tribute to the tireless efforts of workers, professionals, and citizens who aimed to shape Faridabad into a modern, vibrant and forward-looking city. While the world decorates homes during Diwali, we are illuminating our city together. This is the identity of Faridabad, he said.
