President Droupadi Murmu’s chopper on Wednesday witnessed a near-miss after the helipad caved due to the aircraft’s weight. The incident took place at the Pramadam Stadium in Kerala. In the video shared by new agency ANI, emergency personnel of the police and fire departments were seen manually manoeuvring the aircraft out of the affected area.

Following the incident and the unfavourable weather condition, the President’s travel plans have changed. She landed at a stadium in Pramadom, Konni.

Notably, the planned destination was at Nilackal, but following the inclement weather, it landed at Pramadom.

As per news agency IANS, President Murmu was received by the local MP Anto Antony, and high-ranking officials.

At the temple, President Murmu would take 18 steps carrying the ‘irumudikettu’. After theat she will offer prayers to Lord Ayyappa.

In view of the high-profile visit, other devotees’ entry to the temple has been restricted. People will not be permitted beyond Nilakkal.

The President will return to New Delhi on October 24.
