Violence inside Cuttack Choudwar jail, prisoner attacks fellow inmate at night

An incident of violence broke out inside the Choudwar Jail in Cuttack when one inmate suddenly attacked another during the night on Tuesday. The attack was captured on the jail ward’s CCTV footage, which has now come to light.

The video shows the assailant getting up and unexpectedly assaulting the other prisoner. Following the attack, several other inmates woke up and were seen running around the ward, attempting to intervene or escape the chaos.

Authorities are reviewing the footage to investigate the cause of the incident and to ensure the safety and security within the jail premises.
Earlier, on Oct 2, at least 2 dreaded criminals escaped from the high-security jail.

The two fugitives, identified as Madhukant Rana and Raja Sahani from Bihar, made a daring escape in the dead of night on October 2, under the cover of Durga Puja celebrations inside the prison.

The sensational jailbreak has left police officials red-faced and has raised serious questions about jail security and internal lapses.

They reportedly climbed out of their cell by tearing through metal bars, then scaled the outer wall undetected. It is suspected they had insider help, though no official confirmation has been made yet.
