Traditional fair held in Nahan village

The Shirgul Temple Committee organised a vibrant traditional fair at Jetak village in Nehli Dhida gram panchayat of the Nahan Assembly constituency on the auspicious occasion of Bhaiya Dooj today. Locals and devotees enthusiastically participated in the event, where Nahan MLA Ajay Solanki was the chief guest.

The MLA inaugurated the fair by lighting the ceremonial lamp and offering prayers to Goddess Ranchandi for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of the people of the region. He emphasised the cultural and social significance of such traditional fairs, calling them “a reflection of our shared heritage and a symbol of social unity.” He added that these events not only strengthened communal bonds but also preserved the region’s ancient customs and traditions.

Solanki announced Rs 4 lakh for the renovation of the historic fort at Jetak, describing it as a proud symbol of the area’s glorious past and cultural heritage. He added, “Preserving this fort is our collective responsibility, as it stands as a testament to our history and identity.”

He congratulated the organising committee and villagers for successfully hosting the fair and assured them of full support for similar cultural initiatives in the future.

The fair featured several engaging competitions, including kabaddi, running, pot-breaking and musical chair contests. The MLA gave away prizes to the winners.
