Season 7 of The Kardashians had a major revelation moment when SKIMS mogul Kim Kardashian disclosed to her kin about the 'brain aneurysm' prognosis.
As per a report on DailyMail, Kim was filmed in a medical centre for the show's premiere and MRI scans of her brain were displayed, which showed the aneurysm.
Kim reportedly blamed the stressful divorce from her ex-husband, Kanye West, for her aneurysm.
What is a brain aneurysm?
It is a bulge in a blood vessel in the brain, which is also known as a cerebral aneurysm or intracranial aneurysm.
According to Mayo Clinic, experts think brain aneurysms form and grow because blood flowing through the blood vessel puts pressure on a weak area of the vessel wall. This can increase the size of the brain aneurysm.
What happens if it ruptures?
Rupturing or leaking of the brain aneurysm can lead to bleeding in the brain, which is also known as a hemorrhagic stroke.
Dr Brian Hoeflinger, a board certified neurosurgeon with over 26 years of experience, says one in 50 people in the US has unruptured brain aneurysms and it is slightly more common in women.
Are brain aneurysms serious?
Brain aneurysms are common. But most brain aneurysms aren't serious, especially if they're small. Most brain aneurysms don't rupture. They usually don't cause symptoms or health problems. As per Mayo Clinic, in many people, brain aneurysms are found during tests for other conditions. However, if an aneurysm ruptures, it can quickly become life-threatening and requires emergency treatment.
