Delhi Customs seizes gold, contraband worth Rs 360 cr
Delhi Customs has seized 26.26 kg of gold valued at Rs 24.68 crore so far this financial year.
In a major crackdown on drug smuggling, officials registered 52 cases involving 239 kg of narcotic substances, including ganja and cocaine, valued at
Rs 338 crore.
A total of 74 persons have been arrested for violations of several laws.
In addition to these enforcement efforts, the Customs also realised duties amounting to Rs 10.80 crore till October 15.
Further, during an ongoing cleanliness and disposal drive, narcotics valued at around Rs 850 crore were destroyed on October 16, marking a significant step towards ensuring the proper disposal of seized contraband.
Officials said Delhi Customs remained committed to maintaining vigilance against smuggling, ensuring compliance with customs laws and protecting the nation’s economic and social security.
