IRCTC Website Down Again: People faced issues in train ticket booking as the official website and app of IRCTC experienced another outage. The outage occurred during the critical festive season, preventing users from booking tickets. People who were attempting to access the official IRCTC site are seeing the recurring error message – “This site is currently unreachable, please try after some time.”

Why Is The IRCTC Website Down For The Second Time?

Notably, IRCTC faced major outage for the second time just before the holiday period. Users also faced a similar outage before Diwali. However, the IRCTC server was restored in few hours, allowing people to book their tickets. These kinds of repeated failures and outages during the festive season severely affect people who book last time tickets.

Has IRCTC Issued Any Official Statement?

As of now, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation has not issued any official statement related to the outage or informed about the time frame when the ticket booking services are expected to resume.

People Flooded The Social Media Platforms

Following the outage, people took to social media platforms to report issues. They shared IRCTC website screenshots showing problems with ticket booking. The major outage has also been featured on Downdetector, a website that monitors sites and apps status.

Users were told that the outage started at around 10:00 am, clashing with the Tatkal booking timings. Individuals who tried to make online reservations during this crucial time got pop-up – “Server Unavailable”.

Meanwhile, the Indian Railways has announced additional special trains for the people returning after Diwali and others travelling for Chhath. North Eastern Railway has increased its trains in order to handle the surge.

NER has announced as many as 186 special trains during the festive season. Additional ticket counters have also been set up at major stations, including Gorakhpur.
