WATCH | Ashish Chanchlani shines in 'chilliest' directorial debut 'Ekaki'; trailer OUT

YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani on Monday released the trailer for his highly anticipated directorial debut series, titled 'Ekaki'.

This horror-comedy web series, set to release on November 27, will be his first big project since the controversy that followed his appearance on an episode of Samay Raina's YouTube series 'India's Got Latent'.

Beginning with Chanchlani's signature whimsical narration and references to his earlier videos, the trailer soon shows that he and his group were not alone at Ekaki Villa.

The shots that follow quickly hint at the ghost's sinister presence, though it is nowhere to be seen, setting the tone for what the YouTuber earlier called the 'chilliest' trip of the year.

"What did you think? That you all are alone?" an unseen ghostly voice says at the end of the trailer, which garnered at least 1,25,000 views within ten minutes of its release.

Featuring long-time YouTube collaborator Akash Dodeja, as well as Harshh Rane, Sidhant Sarfare, Rohit Sadhwani, Shashank Shekhar, and Grishim Nawanii, the trailer marks Chanchlani's official comeback to his YouTube channel of 30.9 million subscribers.

The comedy YouTuber had moved away from the spotlight earlier this year after he faced backlash for appearing in an episode of 'India's Got Latent', which featured an NSFW joke by influencer and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia.

He has since focused mainly on 'Ekaki', his directorial debut, which he has co-written with Grishim Nawani, and produced alongside Kunal Chhabhria via his production house. It will be available to watch for free on his official YouTube channel.
