CM visits under-construction Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday visited the under-construction Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra (Mahabharata-themed interpretation centre) at Jyotisar Tirtha in Kurukshetra, and inquired about the status of the project.
The CM visited various sections of the under-construction centre, inquired about the pending work and issued directions to complete the work soon. The Principal Secretary, Tourism Department, Kala Ramachandran, provided a detailed briefing of the work. The government is investing about Rs 250 crore to develop Jyotisar Tirtha as a major tourism hub.
During the visit, the Chief Minister meticulously inspected the reception area, the epic creation room, the ancient Mahabharata exhibits, the Kuru dynasty lineage, Gita verses, Krishna’s role in Mahabharata, the 10 avatars, and other rooms at the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra. The CM gave instructions to the officials regarding the project.
The Haryana Tourism Department officials through a PowerPoint presentation tried to showcase all future plans for the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra project. During the presentation, Saini instructed that the Jyotisar Centre be developed into a world-class tourist destination, emphasising that all development work should be completed at the earliest so that tourists can experience the history of the Mahabharata and Kurukshetra at the centre.
Saini stated that Lord Krishna delivered the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita from the land of Kurukshetra. Keeping the history of this holy land in mind, the government was accelerating development work in Jyotisar. A review meeting was held with officials regarding these development projects, and a detailed inspection of the Jyotisar Experience Centre was conducted.
Saini further said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country’s cultural heritage has been strengthened. The government is developing a Mahabharata-themed project at Jyotisar to preserve the cultural heritage. This Jyotisar Gita Sthali is being transformed into one of the world’s most spectacular historical sites. The Jyotisar Tirtha will become a grand, memorable and historically significant place.” “The Tirtha is being developed from a tourism perspective, and Jyotisar interpretation centre is an important project. At the Jyotisar Anubhav Kendra, tourists from India and abroad will get a vivid glimpse into the history of Kurukshetra”, he added.
Haryana Tourism Minister Dr Arvind Sharma, Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand and several other officials of the Tourism Department, Kurukshetra Development Board, and the district administration were present.
