Trump Signs Deals With Japan's New 'China Hawk' PM Takaichi Before His Meeting With Xi Jinping | 4K
Japan's first female prime minister Sanae Takaichi faced her biggest test yet as she met with the mercurial American President Donald Trump over a two day visit in Tokyo. Ahead of the meeting, Trump had rattled Japanese officials with tariffs and open provocations that Japan should pay more for the presence of American troops in that country. But the meeting went off smoothly, better than both sides had expected. The leaders signed two agreements — one declaring a “new golden age of the US-Japan alliance,” and another to cooperate on expanding the supply chain for rare earth metals. But there was little sign of any breakthrough in the trade deal which both countries signed in July. n18oc_world n18oc_crux
