Rohit has become the oldest player to reach the No. 1 spot in ICC ODI men’s rankings
At 38 years and 182 days, Rohit has become the oldest player to reach the No. 1 position in the ICC men’s rankings, overtaking Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar, who last held the top spot in Tests at 38 years and 73 days in 2011. This milestone also marks Rohit’s maiden stint at the top of the ODI batting rankings, an extraordinary milestone for a cricketer in the latter stages of his career.
The achievement came following Rohit’s impressive comeback to the 50-over format in India’s recent three-match ODI series against Australia, where he also led the run charts with 202 runs in three innings.
