Thunderstorm and lightning alert issued in eastern Uttar Pradesh

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that today, October 29th, several parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh may experience thunderstorms and rain. Meanwhile, the weather in western Uttar Pradesh is expected to remain dry. A yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning has been issued in the eastern districts of Sonbhadra, Mirzapur, Ghazipur, Mau, Chandauli, Azamgarh, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Jaunpur, and Sant Ravidas Nagar.

Heavy rain forecast for the next two days

A warning of heavy to very heavy rain has been issued for many parts of Uttar Pradesh on October 30 and 31. The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain, particularly in the Purvanchal region, especially in the districts of Varanasi and Mirzapur divisions.

This could lead to a drop in temperatures. Maximum temperatures could drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours. Minimum temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius over the next few days.

Severe Cyclone Montha Hits Andhra Pradesh Coast

According to the Meteorological Department, Cyclone Montha hit the Andhra Pradesh coast around 7 pm on Tuesday. The storm passed through the vicinity of Kakinada, between Machilipatnam and Kalingapatnam.

During this period, winds reached 90 to 100 kilometers per hour, gusting up to 110 kilometers per hour. The impact of this storm, which formed in the Bay of Bengal, is now gradually being felt in the weather of North India, especially Uttar Pradesh.

Mercury Drops in Lucknow, Unseasonal Rain Intensifies Cold

The capital Lucknow recorded a sharp drop in temperatures for the second consecutive day on Tuesday due to rain. According to the Amausi Meteorological Station, the maximum temperature was 25.4 degrees Celsius, 6 degrees below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 19.9 degrees Celsius. In many areas, people had to turn off their fans by afternoon, while heavy rain occurred at other places at night. This change was due to moisture from the Arabian Sea and favorable conditions from the jet stream.

Temperatures will fluctuate for the next three to four days

According to weather experts, Uttar Pradesh will experience some fluctuating weather with cold winds for a few days. While western Uttar Pradesh will remain dry on October 29th, eastern Uttar Pradesh is expected to experience thunderstorms and rain today. Temperatures are expected to drop again from October 30th as the remnants of Cyclone Monta reach Uttar Pradesh.
