Delhi BJP gears up for MCD bypolls

The Delhi BJP has started preparations for the upcoming by-elections to 12 wards of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), scheduled for November 30. Under the leadership of Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva, the party has appointed election coordinators and ministers in charge for each ward as part of its poll strategy.

District presidents held meetings on Wednesday evening with mandal office-bearers and senior party workers to chalk out ward-level plans. The ministers in charge and coordinators discussed campaign responsibilities and booth management ahead of the bypolls.

Sachdeva said the BJP is fully prepared for the elections and will contest all seats with full strength.

According to the list, Manoj Shaukeen and Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa will handle the Mundka ward, while Rajan Tiwari and Minister Kapil Mishra will oversee Shalimar Bagh (B). Vishnu Mittal and Sirsa will be responsible for Ashok Vihar. For Chandni Chowk and Chandni Mahal, Pankaj Kumar Jain and Atif Rashid will serve as coordinators, with Minister Ravindra Indraj in charge of both wards.

MLA Pradyuman Rajput and Minister Pankaj Singh will look after Dwarka (B), while MLA Abhay Verma and Pankaj Singh will handle Dichau Kalan. MLA Surya Prakash Khatri and Minister Ashish Sood have been assigned Narayana, while NDMC member Dinesh Pratap Singh and Minister Pravesh Verma will lead Sangam Vihar (A). Jay Prakash and Pravesh Verma will oversee Dakshinpuri, Rajkumar Bhatia and Sood will handle Greater Kailash, and Naseeb Singh and Kapil Mishra will manage Vinod Nagar.

Party leaders said the BJP is focusing on strengthening its ground network, with emphasis on local issues and booth-level mobilisation ahead of the bypolls.

Delhi
