There have been rumours of Kannada actor Yash's upcoming film Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups being plagued by production problems. Certain social media accounts and portals have been floating speculations on "conflicts" between filmmaker Geetu Mohandas and Yash. Despite these being dismissed earlier by some of the cast members earlier, some netizens continue to entertain these unverified reports.
Now, the production house behind the film, KVN Productions, has put an end to these rumours, through a statement posted by Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh. In his tweet posted on X, he wrote that the team is "now completing the final portions of the shoot and will commence full-fledged promotions in Jan 2026." The tweet was retweeted by KVN's official handle.
"STOP THE RUMOURS... YASH'S NEXT FILM 'TOXIC' IS *NOT* DELAYED OR POSTPONED – 19 MARCH 2026 RELEASE CONFIRMED… Spoke to the producers – #Toxic is firmly on track for its [Thursday] 19 March 2026 release, perfectly timed for the festive weekend of #Ugadi, #GudiPadwa, and #Eid. Post-production began while #Yash was filming for #Ramayana in #Mumbai," wrote Taran.
In an earlier statement to entertainment outlet Variety, writer-director Geetu Mohandas said they are "crafting a story that will not only entertain but also deeply connect with hearts and minds worldwide."
Bankrolled by Yash's company Monster Mind Creations and Venkat K Narayana's KVN Productions, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grownups will also be dubbed and released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam.
The team recently released a first-look teaser footage that gave fans a glimpse of Yash's look in the film.

The film boasts an international technical team that comprises action choreography veteran JJ Perry, known for his work in films such as Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained and a couple of John Wick films.

The visual effects is handled by the firm Double Negative (DNEG) which contributed to some high-profile projects such as Christopher Nolan's Inception, Tenet, and Interstellar, and Denis Villeneuve's two Dune films and Blade Runner 2049.
