The ICC Women's World Cup is set for its second semi-final on Thursday: a much-anticipated match between India and Australia at 3 pm at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai.

Despite having home advantage, the odds appear to be stacked against India, as the Australians are the clear favourites to defend their title.

Mumbai weather update

Mumbai has recently received a yellow alert for rain, which could potentially affect the play. The city experienced rain this morning, causing concern among fans. The ICC, however, has designated October 31 as a reserve day for the semi-final, in case rain disrupts the match today.

Navi Mumbai is expected to see a temperature range between 25 degrees Celsius and 33 degrees Celsius, with the possibility of a cloudy and rainy atmosphere, according to AccuWeather. The coastal areas of Mumbai had significantly heavier rain earlier in the morning. A total rainfall of 40–70 mm is expected across the city for the entire day.

Navi Mumbai pitch report

The pitch is expected to provide good bounce and a consistent pace. The surface is mostly flat, making a high-scoring contest possible, while the fast bowlers can extract some movement early in the innings. The spinners are likely to come into play during the middle and later stages of the match.

What if rain washes out the reserve day as well?

If rain continues to disrupt the reserve day, India could face a serious setback. As Australia topped the World Cup points table, they would automatically qualify for the final, bypassing the semi-final. With Australia having already won the tournament seven times and India still seeking their first title, the pressure rests more heavily on the Indian side.

The winner will play against South Africa, who defeated England in the first semi-final at the Assam Cricket Association Stadium in Guwahati on October 29.
