Bihar steadily marching on development track under Modi-Nitish leadership: Nadda
PATNA, Oct 30: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National President JP Nadda today asserted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Bihar has transformed itself into a state firmly moving on the path of development after decades of stagnation and misrule.
Addressing public rallies in Teghra (Begusarai), Harnaut (Nalanda) and Bakhtiyarpur (Patna) in support of National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidates, Nadda said that between the 1990s and 2005, Bihar was engulfed in darkness and was crippled by crime, corruption and lawlessness. But after 2005, it regained its pace and found a new direction of progress under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
The BJP chief remarked that the people of Bihar have witnessed a stark difference between the past and the present.
Highlighting Bihar’s achievements, Nadda said that the state is now advancing rapidly in infrastructure, education, health, electricity and irrigation. “Once called a BIMARU state, Bihar is now preparing to join the league of developed states,” he added.
He emphasised that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has curbed corruption and terrorism, strengthened its borders and uplifted the lives of the poor. The same model of good governance and growth has been implemented in Bihar, Nadda said, asserting that wherever the NDA governs, development follows, while non-NDA governments have only slowed or stalled growth.
Accusing the Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) of neglecting Bihar’s interests, Nadda said that the RJD’s Lalu Prasad Yadav is only focused on making his son Tejaswi the Chief Minister, while Sonia and Rahul Gandhi want to make Rahul the Prime Minister and care only about their families, not the people.
Nadda listed the development initiatives under the NDA government, including state and national highways, elevated roads, and modern railway stations, calling Bihar’s infrastructure “the new identity of the state.” “H for Highways, I for Internet, R for Railways, and A for Airports, Bihar has become a shining ‘HIRA’ (diamond) under NDA rule,” he said.
He also slammed the RJD over corruption scandals, including the fodder scam, bitumen scam and land-for-jobs scam, saying, “Those who are out on bail today and might go to jail tomorrow cannot serve the people of Bihar.”
