Indian hockey completes 100 years, celebrations on November 7
                                    
                                    The Hockey Chandigarh will organise the Indian Hockey centenary celebrations on November 7.
Hockey Chandigarh president Karan Gilhotra, vice-president Anil Vohra and Adviser Shaleen Kapoor called on Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria to invite him to the event as the chief guest.
Gilhotra said, “Hockey is India’s glorious heritage. The journey that began in 1925 with the formation of the national hockey body now completes 100 years. The celebrations aim at connecting the younger generation with the golden legacy of Indian hockey.”
Vohra said the programme would commence at 10 am, featuring three exhibition matches — junior and senior boys’ matches and a special girls’ match.
The event will witness the presence of hockey legends from India and abroad, including Olympians Deepak Thakur, Rajpal Singh and Baljit Singh, current Indian team captain Sanjay, Maninder Singh, Vikramjit Singh and junior team captain Rohit.
