Saudi Arabia will debut a “Dream of the Desert, the ultra-luxury train intended to be a moving palace. The train will serve as a hotel, restaurant, and cultural experience, ultimately making for a memorable adventure. The train project is being developed by Italy’s Arsenale Group in conjunction with Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and several Saudi authorities, under Saudi Arabia’s aim to promote high-end tourism (Vision 2030).

Covering a 1,300-kilometer journey from Riyadh to Al-Qurayyat, the ride promises to feel like a dream. At first glance, people will exclaim that this isn’t a train at all, but a moving, walking palace.

This project is a collaboration between Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) and the Italian company Arsenale Group. It is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which has the goal of moving the country from an economy reliant on oil to a destination for tourism and luxury experiences.

According to ABP News LIVE report,  the train named “Dream of the Desert” will feature 14 luxurious coaches.

Its roof will be covered in 22-carat gold. The interiors will highlight Saudi Arabia’s rich cultural heritage and have Murano glass to display elegance and artistry.

The wood-carved walls and tile-front bar of the train give its interior a luxurious feel. It will have 31 private suites and 2 presidential suites allowing a maximum of 66 passengers to travel in ultimate luxury at a time.

In other terms, this train remains a totally different experience from one’s typical crowded train rides.  As for the tickets, luxury here truly comes at a price fit for gold.

According to the ABPNews LIVE report, the fare for a trip on this train will likely cost between $3,000 and $5,000 (about Rs 2.5 to 5 lakh). There are reports of the trains being built at a cost of roughly Rs 461 crore, while the amount spent on the gold-plated roof of the train could fund the construction of an entire set of Indian Railways coaches.\
