Absconder held after 11 years

JAMMU, Oct 31: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Nagrota area have arrested an absconder who was evading his arrest for the past 11 years.
Gulzar Ahmed of Dabber Nowshera, District Rajouri, was wanted in connection with a criminal case registered under FIR number 171/2014 under sections 279/337 RPC registered at Police Station Nagrota, a police official said.
“But the accused was constantly evading his arrest,” he said.
He added that a warrant under section 512 CrPC was also issued against him by the Court of Munsiff JMIC Jammu.
The warrant was executed today by a team of Police Station Nagrota led by SHO concerned with the arrest of the accused, who was later produced before the competent court for further legal proceedings, the police official said.
