Light and sound show on Nov 4 on Guru’s life, teachings, sacrifice
Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal on Friday reviewed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming light and sound show scheduled to be held at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium on November 4. The event is being organised as a part of the state government’s efforts to commemorate the 350th anniversary of the martyrdom of ninth Sikh master Guru Teg Bahadur.
Dr Aggarwal minutely examined various arrangements for the mega event, including security, traffic management, venue cleanliness, toilet blocks, parking arrangements, uninterrupted power supply, deployment of medical teams, and availability of drinking water. He directed the police and civic departments to make elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the event so that devotees do not face any inconvenience.
The DC said that the 45-minute show will present a captivating digital depiction of Guru Teg Bahadur’s life, legacy, teachings, and supreme sacrifice. “The presentation will offer devotees an experience that will portray the guru’s philosophy of peace, tolerance, and universal brotherhood,” he said.
The entry for the show will start at 5 pm on November 4, and the devotees would be able enter without any pass as it will be a open entry for everyone. Notably, the show will be conducted by the teams of Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department.
Prominent among others present on the occasion included Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasvir Singh, ADC Navdeep Kaur, ADCP Traffic Gurbaaz Singh, Assistant Commissioner Rohit Jindal, representatives of various departments, and a team from Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department.
